CHRISTMAS PARTY
Bowling at Bill White's Akron Lanes
(website)Friday, May 119:00 p.m. 2911 East Waterloo Rd. Akron, OhioIf you’re pretty sure you’re coming: please email
sarah@m-b-c.org, call her at 330.645.2681, or sign up this Sunday. If you want to gather beforehand for other activities, this kind of social interaction is recommended and encouraged. However, you’ll have to coordinate that amongst yourselves.
MEET, GREET, & EATSeveral times a year we gather for breakfast at our normal time & place on Sunday morning. Everyone brings a treat to share, whether it's pancakes made fresh right there in the room, or a can of pineapple chunks because you forgot until five minutes before walking out the door. Come for a casual time of fellowship, friendship, and fun. The date for our next Meet, Greet, & Eat will be posted here (as soon as we decide on one). Bring something good to share!
LIFE GROUPSWhat is a Life Group? We believe that life is best lived in an environment where meaningful and transparent relationships can be fostered in a small group setting. Life Groups consist of eight to twelve people who meet every other week in homes throughout the Akron area. We place a high value on prayer, accountability, relationship-building, and the study of God’s Word. We offer several different kinds of Life Groups for whatever stage of life you are in (single, engaged, married). There is something about doing and experiencing life together that brings joy to the heart of a Christ-follower. Community says, “We need each other!”If you want to join a Life Group, email us at craig@m-b-c.org or sarah@m-b-c.org.

There are multiple Life Groups within the community of Transitions. Jon and his wife co-lead one of those Life Groups. When someone is interested in being part of a Life Group, Jon figures out which group works best for them and makes sure they get plugged in. On Sunday mornings Jon also announces the upcoming events, because the sound of his voice makes every event sound even more appealing.Jon lives in Stow with his wife Julie. They have a very neat and orderly living space complete with a pool table, Julie’s books on law, and Jon’s Star Wars novels. Jon and Julie are both physically active people. When it comes to our Transitions Triathlon summer event, Julie displays her great swimming skills and Jon usually wins the solo triathlon - but don’t let that stop you from signing up!
Every year in the fall, Life Groups start up. People may join a Life Group right from the start, or they might step in halfyway through the year. Either way, they're welcome! Jon helps to manage all those interested in joining a Life Group. He finds a good place for each person to fit in, and gets them involved. You could say he's sort of a middle man - the necessary kind.Jon lives in Stow with his wife, Julie. They enjoy playing games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride, being outdoors, and having dinner with friends. Jon is an engineer through and through, but don't worry! He's quite friendly and likeable! (Engineer joke!) We had something really extraordinary written here before but the text got lost somewhere in cyberspace. Sorry, Jon.
We don’t know why God gives certain people great abilities, but we’re sure glad when those people are willing to use their abilities for God! Jason helps to lead worship with Matt by singing and playing the guitar. He would be there more often, but he also plays some Sunday mornings in the main service worship at Maranatha. Jason lives in Tallmadge with his wife Sarah. He enjoys just about any book, movie, and television series that falls under the genre of science fiction. He loves to play an online RPG game with friends from around the world. If Jason were offered a free trip to see the Large Hadron Collider in Europe, he’s not the kind of guy to pass it up. His middle name is Engineer, but his second middle name is Gentle Ben.
When a Transitions event is being planned, copies are being made, or emails are being sent out, Sarah is behind it all. She leaves the tough stuff (preaching) to Craig, and she takes care of the rest. If there’s any time left after her administrative duties, Sarah enjoys creating fun graphics for the Sunday morning Power Point presentations and event promotions.Sarah and her husband Jason live in Tallmadge with their two cats, Fluffmuffin and Googlieburg. Just kidding about the pet names. Sarah loves to eat ice cream, draw in her sketch book, and play video games with her husband. She also really appreciates good grammar and spelling.
Every Sunday Craig teaches from the Word of God to the Transitions Young Adults ABF. Craig has a God-given talent to interpret the Word of God in a way that today’s young adults can relate to. Craig is a natural at making newcomers feel welcome. He understands that people like to be put on the spot so he will allow the newcomers to stand up during class time to introduce themselves.Craig and his wife Ann live in Green with their three kids. Craig enjoys running, watching movies with his family, and laughing to (and doing impressions of) comedian Brian Reagan. Although he seems serious at times, Craig is somewhat of a jokester around the office. Everyone appreciates a good laugh in the middle of the workday!
In a day where superficiality and passivity run rampant, many young adults desire to embrace their world with the truth and calling of God. Transitions is a community of believers made up of post-college men and women, engaged couples, and young married couples who, instead of simply giving lip service to Jesus, are intent on “living Him out,” demonstrating His love, joy, and hope to a hurting world. Think of Transitions as an open circle of friends who are growing closer to each other, closer to the Lord, and getting stronger every day. Our Core Values:• Intimacy• Community• Evangelism• Prayer• Service• Scripture
Welcome to Transitions! Transitions is a great place for young adults to plug in. If you are looking for a community of friends and to grow deeper in your walk with Jesus, then come check us out on Sunday morning. We hope you come and see for yourself that Transitions can be like a second home for you!Join us each Sunday from 9:15 - 10:30 am.Room 502 at Maranatha Bible Church, 1424 Killian Road, Akron, Ohio 44312(330) 645-2681
